By the time Friday rolls around, the idea of cooking again isn’t that appetizing. Enter the DIY hors d’oeuvres meal! Everyone gets what they want to eat with minimal prep time, and it’s a great way to use up an item if you only have a bit of it left.
Really whatever you have on hand will work, but if you’re stumped, ask yourself if you have:
- Fruit like grapes, strawberries, melon, honeydew, or pineapple
- Veggies like bell pepper strips, baby carrots, celery, or cherry tomatoes
- Sliced cheeses
- Mixed nuts, raisins, or trail mix
- Crackers, pretzels, triscuits, wheat thins
Veg Options:
- Potato salad
- Egg salad
- Pasta salad
- Hummus
- Goat Cheese
Omnivore Options:
- Deli lunch meat
- Chicken salad
- Tuna salad
- Ham salad
And then plate it on a fancy paper plate, because you know, it’s Friday 🙂
